Julian Rich ASSOCIATE NORTH EAST
Having lived in North Lincolnshire and now residing in Harrogate, Julian is a former Lincoln Cathedral chorister and former scholar of St Peters School, York. With University qualifications in both Construction and Rural Estate Management, he has spent all of his working life in the property industry.
Julian joined Garrington after working for 14 years in property development and investment where he was involved in numerous property transactions and developed over 100 homes in North Yorkshire resulting in his deep understanding of the local market.
Julian has quite a record within this development field having either renovated, built, converted, or refurbished more than £20m of property and successfully obtained planning permission for more than 150 homes. These ranged from one-off houses to Listed buildings including The Old Palace at Ripon, new build houses such as Littlecroft at Markington and 16-18 Regent Parade in Harrogate, barn conversions such as Manor Farm at Tollerton and the refurbishment of several Duchy Houses in central Harrogate
Julian now focuses on the prime market where his background and extensive knowledge enables him to give his clients the best advice for sourcing and acquiring property across the region.
Utilising his past experience in property development, Julian not only understands the local market from a buyer’s perspective but also has a great understanding of the negotiation process enabling him to secure the best deal for his clients.
When he is not sourcing properties for clients, Julian is a keen hockey player for Harrogate, enjoys sailing and boating and has a passion for walking his Cocker Spaniel, Barnaby in and around the Yorkshire Dales.
Jonathan Hopper Managing Director
Jonathan has an enviable track record of success spanning 20 years in the property and relocation industry. As Managing Director of Garrington, he leads a company that has represented numerous clients in multi-million pound transactions and in turn developed a respected industry profile, through the strategic growth of a market leading brand.
Jonathan is a Director on the Board of The Property Ombudsman, a Council Member of the UK’s Association of Relocation Professionals and is a former National Council Member of the NAEA.
He is frequently called upon as an authoritative voice for market insights with articles published in The Financial Times, Canary Wharf and City magazines, The Sunday Time and Bloomberg.
A past recipient of the ‘Best UK Property Finder’ award, he is continuously striving to hone his skills having completed leadership programmes at Cranfield Management School and an MBA at Ashcroft International Business School in Cambridge.
As a prominent creative thinker and entrepreneurial problem solver, Jonathan is passionate about working with clients, and enjoys exploring the driving forces that push successful businesses to their highest potential.
Nicholas Finn Executive Director
Nicholas Finn is London born and bred. With a property career spanning over a decade, he worked in prime London locations from St Johns Wood to Chiswick with one of the capital’s largest sales agents, before channelling his entrepreneurial flair into establishing his own estate agency in a sought-after part of London.
Prior to joining Garrington, Nicholas founded and ran an asset management company. It served corporate institutions and their private clients looking to sell, relocate or add to their portfolios. Nicholas leads and supports a growing team whilst using his experience and extensive contacts to generate exclusive opportunities for clients. He lives in London with his wife and young family.
John Adamson Executive Chairman
John has worked in the property sector for the last 25 years and has director level experience in residential sales, letting and management, estate management and development. Most recently he was Managing Director and majority shareholder of one of largest estate and letting agents in the Eastern region which he successfully sold to a FTSE 250 organisation.
He holds an MBA from The Open University and is a well-respected entrepreneurial leader with an eye for detail, who thrives on the creation of customer-focused companies, where success becomes a by-product of excellence.
Lynne West Operations Manager
Throughout her career Lynne has worked mainly in the areas of Office Management, Event Management and Customer Service. In this time she gained experience being a PA at board level, organising trade shows and heading up a customer service team.
After nearly 20 years working mainly in the Telecommunications industry, Lynne decided that it was time for a new challenge. In 2009 the opportunity arose to join the Garrington team in a key role as an Operations Manager. With a wealth of administrative experience coupled with extensive customer service skills, Lynne ensures that the operational side of Garrington runs smoothly and efficiently. As an important linchpin of the organisation, Lynne’s support to the management team and network of associates is invaluable.
When not at work, Lynne enjoys spending time with her family and is an active committee member of her son’s football and cricket clubs.
Amy Marshall Client Search Manager
Growing up in Somerset, Amy has always shown a keen interest in all things bricks and mortar. Curiosity resulted in a very hands-on approach to her parents’ property investment and development business throughout her school years. A career in property was a sure-fire for Amy: Starting with working for a commercial construction company in Bristol before taking some time outside of the UK to live and work in Spain. On returning to England, Amy moved to London to begin a career in the residential property market. Her initial role was as a lettings negotiator for a successful South West London estate agent. In time she migrated into residential sales, further broadening her knowledge of the property industry and London.
Amy now supports Nicholas with the day to day operations of the London business. It is her broad understanding of the industry and ability to recognise an individual’s requirements that ensures the right consultant is appointed to a clients’ search and that support is provided throughout the service.
Yanina Jeffrey Client & Marketing Administrator
Growing up in Hertfordshire, Yanina has gained a broad range of Administration experiences from industry sectors such as software, life sciences and medical and publishing. This was all whilst seeking her ideal role within property.
Yanina now provides an essential role in coordinating Garrington’s client and marketing activities.
When not at work, Yanina enjoys spending time with her husband and family – Standing on the side lines on freezing Sunday afternoon’s supporting her daughter playing netball.
